LIV Golf Andalucía 2025 Sotogrande: Our Experience at Valderrama

From July 11th to 13th, the iconic Real Club Valderrama once again hosted one of the most exclusive golf events of the year — the LIV Golf Andalucía 2025. As someone who lives and breathes Sotogrande, I couldn’t have been more thrilled to attend.

Watching the Best in the World, Right Here at Home

There’s something truly humbling — and energising — about watching some of the best golfers on the planet just a few minutes from where we live and work. Standing beside the green at Valderrama, surrounded by pines and silence broken only by a perfect swing, we felt grateful and proud of the place we call home.

Jon Rahm put on an incredible show. Calm, focused, and strategic — he pushed all the way to the final round, finishing just one shot behind the winner. He’s a true ambassador for Spanish golf. Talor Gooch, who ultimately took the title at -8, held his nerve under pressure and deserved the win. It was also great to see players like Abraham Ancer and Branden Grace staying competitive throughout the weekend.

 

Final Standings – Individual Competition

• Winner: Talor Gooch (Smash GC) – -8 (69‑66‑70)

• Runner-up: Jon Rahm (Legion XIII) – -7

• Third place: Abraham Ancer (Fireballs GC) – -5

Gooch’s consistency across all three rounds made the difference, while Rahm kept things intense until the very last putt.

Team Results

• 1st: Legion XIII – -5

• 2nd: Fireballs GC – -3

• 3rd: Smash GC – Even Par

It’s worth noting that Legion XIII, with Rahm as their anchor, is proving to be one of the strongest teams this season.

Flamenco, Conversations & a Global Community

We had the chance to enjoy a fantastic flamenco performance right on site — a reminder of the cultural richness that surrounds us here in southern Spain. We also ran into:
