Its jewel is the 18-hole, par-72, 6,721-metre course designed by Cabell B. Robinson. Ranked among Spain’s best, it has hosted international tournaments and holds GEO environmental certification.
Views of the Mediterranean and Gibraltar are unique. The elevated position means the wind affects play less than on other courses. The greens are large, fast and demanding. The layout features four lakes, with water in a total of six holes. Of these, the 6th hole often stands out in European rankings for its design and striking setting.

How to book a golf round at La Reserva Club Sotogrande
It’s straightforward and you have several options:
- Online bookings: On La Reserva’s official website you can book your tee time directly through the club’s system.
- Bookings by phone or email: They also accept bookings by phone or email, which is useful if you want to coordinate several players, request buggies or arrange an academy package.
- Bookings via agencies or hotels: Many local hotels (and golf agencies on the Costa del Sol) include La Reserva green fees in their packages.
You’ll usually be asked for your name, desired time and number of players. It’s wise to book in advance, especially in high season (spring and summer). Always confirm current rates directly with La Reserva Club de Sotogrande before you book.

The Padel and Tennis Centre has five glass padel courts with technical turf and four tennis courts: two clay and two hard Plexipave courts, designed for top performance.
The courts are in excellent condition. The atmosphere is calm and family-friendly. You’ll always find a range of levels, from serious training to social matches.
The club regularly runs training programmes and organises tournaments for all ages and standards.
Private Beach “The Beach” at La Reserva Sotogrande
The Beach, open from June to October, is a freshwater lagoon with white sand, recreating a private beach feel. You can enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming in a safe, family-friendly and relaxed setting.

Location of La Reserva de Sotogrande
The most sought-after golf club is inside Sotogrande, not in Marbella.
Although many think it belongs to Marbella (Málaga province), La Reserva Club is within the Sotogrande resort, in the municipality of San Roque, Cádiz province, Andalusia.
La Reserva de Sotogrande is part of what we call the Costa del Sol, the Andalusian coast with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and a very green natural environment of pines, wild olives and cork oaks from the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, which extends into Sotogrande.

How to get to and access La Reserva de Sotogrande
La Reserva de Sotogrande is easily reached from the A-7 and AP-7, with a direct exit at Guadiaro/Sotogrande and just a few minutes to the entrance, with a staffed gate and private security at the community. It also connects inland via the A-2100 and A-405.

Security and Access Control within La Reserva de Sotogrande
When asked what sets La Reserva de Sotogrande apart, our answer is clear: it is probably the safest area within Sotogrande, which already has high security standards.
Although road access is direct and easy, it’s a private, gated community of 600 hectares, with a main access gate and 24-hour active security. In addition to entrance control, there are mobile patrols that continuously cover the community, securing both the access points and internal areas.
In 2021 a comprehensive technological security plan was implemented, including thermal cameras, intelligent CCTV, number-plate recognition and remote access control. The system covers both the perimeter and internal areas.
Some communities within La Reserva have further measures: for example, Los Cortijos de la Reserva has three guarded entrances and its own cameras. Developments such as The Seven comprise only seven plots of 10,000 m² each, designed as ultra-private enclaves with exclusive access.
The result is a very low-density environment, strict entry protocols and state-of-the-art technology. All this places La Reserva among the most secure and private areas on the Costa del Sol.

Where to eat near La Reserva
The area has many Mediterranean and Andalusian restaurants, beach chiringuitos, and fine-dining options both in Sotogrande Marina and in nearby villages such as Torreguadiaro or Pueblo Nuevo. Expect fresh seafood menus and local tapas.

For short stays, Sotogrande offers boutique hotels, luxury resorts and holiday rentals. The most iconic is SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort, with spa and restaurants on site.
Where to shop near La Reserva Sotogrande
You can reach the main shops in about 10 minutes by car.
Guadiaro and Pueblo Nuevo are also only a few minutes away, with banks, chemists, local schools, restaurants and everyday services.
SotoMarket is the largest shopping centre in the area. It offers a comprehensive experience with supermarkets such as Mercadona and Supercor. You’ll also find boutiques, bakeries, a car dealership, homeware shops, cafés, clinics, vets, architects and even a medical clinic. There is ample parking and easy access from the motorway.
The Marina and Puerto de Sotogrande, besides moorings and luxury apartments and penthouses for sale, concentrate restaurants, bars, fashion and homeware shops and gourmet stores.
Also 10 minutes away are the Paniagua Galleries, the comercial centre where Noll Sotogrande has its offices. The Paniagua complex is a small open-air centre with Andalusian charm. Its recently renovated White Plaza mixes estate agencies with restaurants, bars, home décor and gift shops and art galleries.
In addition, Gibraltar is only 20 minutes from La Reserva de Sotogrande. Marbella and Puerto Banús are under an hour for a wider, international luxury shopping experience.
Supermarkets near La Reserva
There are several supermarkets within easy driving distance, covering everything from daily shopping to more gourmet options. Notable names include Mercadona, Supercor, Lidl, Hipercor and Carrefour Market, all 5–15 minutes away, giving you both large stores and places with more select products.
